We recently invited Tara Marzuki back to Kildare Village, the Village has doubled in size since Tara's last visit two years ago, offering designer labels at more affordable prices and now stocking brands such as Diane Von Furstenberg, Armani, & Versace to name but a few. Tara was happy to discover her New York local Le Pain Quotidien has also opened up along with Joe’s Coffee, an Irish-run coffee shop. Tara found that she could easily spend a full day at the Village, perusing her favourite brands such as The Kooples & All Saints and hitting Dunne & Crescenzi to refuel with a spot of pasta!

The main reason for Tara's trip to Kildare Village was to find out more about how the Village is making an impactful effort to connect with the Irish creative community and the initiatives being undertaken to support home-grown talent.
Só Collective is Kildare Village’s answer to being part of the vibrant movement in Irish design. A new hub of talent, Só Collective is a showcase of contemporary fashion & lifestyle and a celebration of craft from both established and emerging Irish designers & makers. Walking through the space feels like a journey, thoughtfully designed by Irish design studio ChanLegge, the store is crafted with an elemental yet luxurious feel, with the centre of the store lending itself as an exhibition space. It is the perfect fusion of lifestyle, shopping & art. At Só Collective you can discover garments & products rooted in tradition and often featuring native materials such as wool, linen & leather and unique home-ware in ceramic, wood & stone all re-invented in a modern way to serve the contemporary market.
Kildare Village is also helping launch the careers of new-generation designers at an international level with the Fashion Bursary, a €15,000 scholarship aimed at enabling designers to achieve their potential. The Bursary also includes an educational element including student talks led by industry professionals to help nurture young Irish talent perform on an international level.
As a fashion graduate herself, Tara believes that initiatives such as this are extremely encouraging for up and coming designers and makers from the Isle of Ireland.
